The introduction of reconstituted tobacco to replace natural binder leaf made it possible to design a new type of bunch maker for the cigar industry.

These conditions resulted in the design of the PMB SW rod-maker.

The PMB SW rod-maker, however, produces and endless tube containing individual portions of course filler, matching the eventual shape of the product. By cutting obtained, which may subsequently be shaped and pressed on a PMB WV.
